**How the TNP Bull Bear Line Works**
The TNP Bull Bear Line is a simple daily bias tool we use on ES and NQ. It gives a clear directional lean for the session without overcomplicating the decision.
### How the line is set
Every trading day we establish a Bull Bear Line on both ES and NQ:
- The first line is drawn at 8:30 AM Central Time.
- It is reevaluated at 9:00 AM Central Time.
- The final line for the day is set at 9:30 AM Central Time.
In the majority of sessions, the line established at 9:00 AM is the one that remains in play for the rest of the day. If the market moves significantly away from that level, we will occasionally add an additional Bull Bear Line to reflect the new structure.
### How to use it
The Bull Bear Line sets the bias for the day:
- **Above the line** → look for longs.
- **Below the line** → look for shorts.
It is not a rigid entry signal by itself. It is a filter that tells you which side of the market you should be favoring once price action gives you a setup.
### Chart example
Looking at the attached chart:
- The **top green line** (marked with the pink arrow) is the initial Bull Bear Line set at 8:30 AM. Above that level the bias was long; below it the bias shifted to short.
- The **second green line** (marked with the blue arrow) is the Bull Bear Line established after the open. The same rule applies: above the line favors longs, below the line favors shorts.
The pink horizontal lines are the TNP support and resistance levels. These act as both targets and areas where we watch for market response. Once price reaches one of these levels we look for evidence of acceptance or rejection. If we are taking a countertrade, we specifically look for higher lows (or lower highs) to confirm the reaction. In practice, I primarily use these pink levels as targets after the Bull Bear Line has already given me a directional bias and an entry opportunity.
### Practical takeaway
The Bull Bear Line keeps the bias simple and consistent. It removes a lot of the noise around whether the day is better suited for longs or shorts, and it pairs cleanly with the TNP levels as objective targets. The combination gives structure without requiring a complicated system.
